Sint Maarten is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the island of Saint Martin in the Caribbean Sea. The southern part of the island is a Dutch territory.

Sint Maarten occupies the southern 41% of the island of Saint Martin. It is a small country with varied terrain, including hills and a salt lake. The capital is Philipsburg.

The culture of Sint Maarten is a blend of Dutch, French, African, and Caribbean influences. English is the official language, but Dutch and Papiamento are also spoken. The island is known for its vibrant music, festivals, and cuisine.

Originally inhabited by the indigenous Arawak and Carib people, the island was later claimed by both the Dutch and the French. The Treaty of Concordia in 1648 divided the island. Sint Maarten became a part of the Netherlands Antilles until its dissolution in 2010, when it gained its current status as a constituent country.
