Serbia, officially the Republic of Serbia, is a landlocked country situated at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe, in the Balkans. It is known for its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning natural landscapes.

Serbia is bordered by Hungary to the north, Romania and Bulgaria to the east, North Macedonia and Kosovo to the south, and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia to the west. The country is largely mountainous, with the Carpathian Mountains in the north and the Balkan Mountains in the south. The major rivers are the Danube, Sava, and Morava. The climate is continental, with warm summers and cold winters.

Serbian culture is a blend of various influences, including Slavic, Byzantine, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian traditions. Serbian Orthodox Christianity is the dominant religion, and the Serbian language is the official language. The country is renowned for its vibrant folk music and dance, literature, and unique cuisine. The Cyrillic alphabet is widely used.

Serbia has a long and complex history, dating back to the Middle Ages. It was the center of the Serbian Empire in the 14th century, eventually falling under Ottoman rule for several centuries. It gained independence in the 19th century and later became part of Yugoslavia. After the dissolution of Yugoslavia, Serbia became an independent state in 2006.
