Seychelles is an archipelago nation of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean. Located off the coast of East Africa, it is known for its pristine beaches, coral reefs, and unique granite and coral islands.

Seychelles comprises a diverse range of islands, including Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. The islands are typically low-lying coral atolls or, in the case of the inner islands, mountainous granite formations. The climate is tropical, with high temperatures and humidity year-round.

Seychellois culture is a vibrant blend of African, European (French and British), Indian, and Chinese influences. This is reflected in its music, dance, cuisine, and language, with Seychellois Creole being the most widely spoken language, alongside French and English.

Seychelles was uninhabited until the 18th century when it was settled by the French. It was later administered by the British before gaining independence in 1976. The islands have a history of trade, piracy, and colonial governance.
